Frequently asked questions.
What does “Reclaimed Glassware” mean?
Reclaimed Glassware is a term referring to glass jars or bottles that were intended for disposal via garbage or recycling but have been repurposed. By delaying or stopping altogether their tragic demise in a landfill, we can clog the waste stream upriver while still doing the things we love.
What kind of glassware do you use?
We use straight-sided, wide mouthed jars and bottles. Frequently, they come in the form of old salsa, queso, pickle, or garlic jars. Check out our shop or donations page for more examples!
I have some old jars. Do you want them?
We will happily take any unwanted glassware. They don’t have to be perfectly clean (they will undergo our sanitation process) but we ask that they are dry and clear of food debris. See our Donations page for ways to get in touch.
I bought something and I don’t love it, or I have a problem with something I bought. What should I do?
Send us a message! We want to make every order unforgettable. If your order is less than satisfactory (like if it arrived broken!) send me a message via any of our social media, our “Get in Touch” form, or emailing us at craftyenvironmentalist@yahoo.com with a photo and description of your issue.
What’s this “candle care” stuff?
Candle Care is a complimentary “how to safely and most effectively use this product” info sheet. Here’s a summary, just in case you can’t find yours!
-Trim your wicks to 1/4th of an inch before each burn
-Never burn your candle out of eyesight or around other flammable materials
-Never burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time. Burning for longer than 4 hours heats up the glass and makes the candle more volatile and prone to breaking or shattering.
-When less than 1/2 of an inch of wax remains, stop burning your candle. Burning further can damage surfaces on which your candle is situated.
-Keep out of reach of children and pets.
-While our products are made with premium ingredients, misuse of our products can cause harm to children or individuals with environmental or chemical sensitivities.
-For more information, see the warning label on the underside of each candle, or on the inside of a wax melt clamshell lid.
